How does the iPhone size up?

The cell phone has evolved a lot of the past few years. Some people remember using a phone the size of your head to make calls, and anyone who could afford one of those phones was cool and had the future of technology. Nowadays just about anyone can have a cell phone and they don't need a big wallet (or head) to use one. I personally started when the camera phone came out. Yep, I was one of the first people I knew to have a camera phone. When the first video capable phone came out I had to be one of the first to have that and so on...

Various tweeks and additions later, we now have the Apple Iphone. This is one monster of a phone. First off it is a fully functional video Ipod. Most Americans these days, have some sort of MP3 player. Cassettes and CDs are becoming a thing of the past, where small players can carry hundreds even thousands of songs and even video on some. Well this has one built in. It has a 2 Megapixel Camera without flash. It has built in Wi-fi for fast high speed internet. This phone has brought everything of the past cell phones into one slick product.

This is cool and all, but what most people don't know for the same price you can import phones from other countries as long as you are with a company that uses SIM cards (ie T-Mobile and AT&T). It's not highly known but oour phones in the US are a couple steps behind the great phones of Europe and Asia. And while the Iphone brings us a little closer it still falls short in comparison. Take for instance Nokia's recently released N82. Now when you think Nokia you don't always think of the best phones, but that's just because we don't get their best phones.

The N82 comes equipped with not one but TWO cameras!? Now the main camera has an amazing 5 Megapixels! That's 3 more than the Iphone.. Te second camera is in the front and uses a feature that we can't use yet in the states..the video call. Also in this phone is a graphics card for 3D games, and built in GPS and Wi-fi. It's like iPhone - touch + hundreds of other features. You can also install many programs right on the phone since it runs of an operating system similar to windows. I have roms, google maps, msn messenger, and many more programs straight off the internet.

So before you get an iphone I recommend looking into something better for the same price.

Also another thing I noticed, now that I work for AT&T is how complicated the iPhone can be to set up and it actually costs a little more to use it than importing a phone. The iPhone requires a plan with internet use and such, while phones like the N82 you can use wifi for free and all you need is a wireless internet point and no extra charges or plans will happen or be needed.
